No offense intended. But why can't these cars have better styling? I think the older B5 Passat had clean lines for a family 4-door, but the new Camry's, the latest Passat, and this new Accord, each seem to have been designed by multiple teams -- one for the front, etc., etc.
I guess I was reacting to the thought that it's sedan that looks like a.....sedan, and sedans are inherently boring.

No doubt, I agree ordinary cars could have better styling. They at least need to be more cohesive.

I think the problem is that cohesive designs seem to be criticized as bland and boring by the general public. In general, people seem to want bold, new, cutting edge designs. They seem to want extra vents, bumps, bulges, and obscure features, just as long as it hasn't been done before.

I don't got for all that. I suppose that's why I'm generally a proponent of evolutionary designs that carry over some common stylistic queues from generation to generation. Honda seems to have lost it's queues with the Accord a couple generations ago. BMW lost most of their evolutionary queues with the Bangled cars.

The only evolutionary designs that Honda did right were the Integra to RSX and the last gen Prelude (skipping the one before it)..

The cars that sell the most are boring. It isnt because of the price or the stats. Its because people are boring. Boring people want a boring car. When the boring people buy an exciting car, they quickly sell it and buy another boring car to suit their lifestyle.

The boring part isnt even about the performance. People want bland cars, houses that look like everyone else's house, the same clothes, the same jewelry, the same job, the whole 9.

I don't know that people want boring cars. I just think that most people view cars as an appliance with the purpose of hauling people and stuff. Most of the rest that want something flashier seem to want primarily to impress others (hence the popularity of vehicles like Hummers, 20"+ chrome rims, and gawdy wings, whether they impress others or not). Few people are true car enthusiasts that critique new cars as soon as spy pics hit the Internet like those here.

Hell, you'll need a family to shop for most anything new from Honda these days I'm afraid to say...

Although I agree with ya Jason that Honda knocked it out the park with the Integra to RSX upgrade... They did a fine job with that, but they've cut that off too...

I'll ALWAYS have respect and admire the BB6's
