Viper V10 S2000
Guy was working on an LS1 S2k but decided to go a bit more upscale... http://www.v8s2000.com/forums/showth...p?94-V10-s2000

Holy balance offset batman.
I'm all for customizing a car and what not, but at some point you destroy the soul of the car.
What makes the s2000 special in the high revving motor, the great handling and balance characteristics. That package is what makes the car a joy to drive around the track. Take off the belt and I can still consistently run laps within 2-3 seconds of m3s and porsches.
I've driven turbo s2000 and engine swap s2000s and something is lost there.

cool, but not my cup of tea

Honestly, with as many things that are getting removed in that process as well as how far back he's mounting it...it might not end up that bad.
I would surely never do it to my car (my sights are completely set on FI), but I respect what it will be.

Very cool project, gonna be a strait line monster for sure. Too bad the viper trans is a pile of poo, but it should still be fun to drive. As much as I like stuff like this, I will have to agree with the others. Why ruin a perfectly balanced car? If you want a viper, just buy a viper.

Unbelievable amount of work. Same here, not for me, they lost the S, it will never handle again. But I cannot knock the guy. In reading his thread I thought it rather funny that he said "I had no idea it would be this hard." Taking out a straight 4 and putting in a V10, I would think that would be the most difficult if not impossible task ever! Where there is a will there is a way.

I didn't read his thread, but it seems to me that the point is not to keep the soul of the S2000. It's just to see if it can be done -- to build a stupid fast car. Who cares if it doesn't handle as well anymore?
