Default Vacationing in Alaska

JAGlady and I will be leaving on the 15th for Seattle and a 7 day cruise through the Inside Passage. Ports of call include Juneau, Ketchikan, Scagway and Victoria, BC. We'll be riding the White Pass railroad in Scagway seeing some of the most dramatic and beautiful scenery of the trip. We'll also visit the Mendenhall Glacier, attend an Alaskan King Crab feast, go whale watching on a jet boat and eat ourselves into oblivion.

We'll be thinking about you guys in the August heat while we're in sweaters and shells enjoying our Starbuck's coffees.

AWESOME! I wanna go! Have a great time and take lots of pics for posting. I especially want to see an Alaskan S2K (would it be white?).

Enjoy the weather. I know how great it felt in the mountains this weekend with early morning temps in the high 40's.

You know that cruise ship may sink now with all those glaciers, so if you care for yours and your wife's welfare, just send those tickets my way and I will dispose of them in a proper manner for you. It was worth a shot, Enjoy the trip!

Hey Phil and Mickey!! Have a great time. I'll be right behind you by one month. I'll leave on the 18th of September from Seattle on Holland. Please post pics when you return so I'll know what I have to look forward too!!! They say the average person gains a pound a day on a cruise ship with all that good food to eat.

I went on a cruise with some friends 2 years ago and it was by far the best vacation. Dinner was the best part, of course. We quickly grew fond of our waiter and waitress as they were a ton of fun. By the end of the week, they were sitting down drinking coffee with us and they finally admitted that they were acutally married! Apparently it's very unusual for a couple to be able to work together like that on the ship. Anyway, we talked to them for a long time the last night and one of the things I remember them telling us is that their favorite cruise was definitely the Alaska cruise. I've wanted to do one since... I'm sure y'all will love it and I'm looking forward to seeing the pics too!

Thanks for the well-wishes. We'll be taking oh...maybe 20Gb of pics.

I just hope the TWO tropical storms out there won't delay our departure from Wilmy and cause us to miss our connection in Charlotte. They're both scheduled to hit Wilmy around departure day.

On the upside, the high tomorrow in Juneau will be 63F, low 58F.
