Used Car Lots?
Looking for a daily 'beater' driver.
Just curious if any of you had any recommendations besides the stealerships.....I'm looking to go uber-cheap....maybe a del Sol or early '90s Civic.
Thanks for any tips (btw....I'm guessing I'll be leaving Meck. for any deals....just point the way )

My favorite car I've ever owned, besides the S, was a 1990 Civic Si. If you can find a good one, that's what I'd recommend.
My current beater is a 1989 Accord LX - 5 speed. Not as peppy or nimble as the Civic was, but pretty roomy, pretty comfortable, and the only way it'll ever quit is if it gets wrecked; I'm convinced. 310,XXX miles and counting...
As for where to find these deals, that's the trick. Private party is the way to go. Someone you know is even better. I bought mine from the company bulletin board. Nobody wants to screw over someone they work with!
Good luck!

PS - I think Del Sol's are for girls. Besides, you don't need another 2-seater; you've already got the best deal in that market!

call my boy johnny S. at hendrick honda. He works on the used car side. They get alot of used trades and cheap cars are for sale there from 500-5000 dollars.
I bought a 1997 Accord SE from him for 4K 140K miles though. Beautiful!
Just tell him Dre told you to call.

Try Ebay, I almost won an auction for a Gen2 Integra in Virginia for $1700....only lost by $25
Anyways, there are plenty of options on Ebay. Lots of Gen2 Integras and Accords. Civics seem attract the ricers and seem to go for higher than I'd be willing to pay.
I just picked up an 86 Civic Si from a friends co-worker for $300. Talk about a steal!! Need some minor work and it'll run like a champ!

^^^ hell yeah, reminds me of when I bought my '83 accord for $550 in the paper. Had 171K on it and it came with a grandpa smell for free. First week I drove that sucker it scared the shit outta me! Honda's original "power" steering. It was funny, it even included the words "power steering" on the steering wheel 'H' emblem
