Default Update to my life story: Attempted car-jacking!

Well guys, unfortunately I couldn't get another S2k until I am 19 due to the rate my insurance would run. My parents requested that I get an SUV, so last Friday, we took off to check out some Range Rovers. Ended up bringin home a white 99 Rover... I love it. Drove with my parents for 3-4 days to insure my stability behind the wheel (due to the extent of my head injury). Then, Monday, I was allowed to start doing short distance drives by myself. Well today, 3 day later, I have ANOTHER tramatizing experience!!!

I was going to visit my cousin (29 but acts 16) about 2 miles away. I drove by his house, only to find he wasn't home, so I turned around and headed home. Only the way home, I turn onto Kelly Rd. and ahead I see a young black man (17-18 I would guess) about 5'6'' with a strong build walking down the middle of my lane with a rather intemidating look on his face. As i approached I hoped he would move off the road, but he didn't, and with cars approaching in the other lane I couldn't swirve, so i stopped... he was about 3 feet in front of me at this time. He proceeded to my pass. door (all windows were down cause it was pretty outside) reached in with a knife in one hand and tried to unlock the door with the other hand. By this time the car has passed in the other lane so I hit the gas, he looses his grip but catches the window frame of the back door and tries to hold on, only to fly into the street once I swirved. I look in my rear veiw mirror and see two lovely young ladys in a car behind me faced with the same thing I was (a kinfe and a crazy guy) but luckily they had already noticed SOMETHING wasn't exactly right. Consequently, they speed away also. Up the road I pulled off and got them to pull beside me to make sure they were ok. Then we called the law. I will tell you guys what, I must have bad luck !!!!! It scared me pretty good... I almost wish I would just ran him over lol... I do have a brush guard

Geez, perhaps you should consider Public Transportation Logan!

Well, that has it's "issues" too!

Honestly, man. . .I'm glad you're alright! This world is funny and we never know what's on anyone's mind! Very sad!

An excellent reason to carry a pistol in your car at all times. Even without a concealed weapons permit, you're allowed to carry a firearm in your personal vehicle as long as it's in plain view (North Carolina). In South Carolina it's just the opposite - must be concealed in your glove compartment.

That's a tense situation. If he had gotten into your car and you were within the range of his knife, things could have gotten ugly. Better to be safe than sorry.

My humble opinion.

Yeah, my rents would never let me get a gun though it would stop attempted car jackings though.
