Most tracks or sanctioning bodies in the area do not allow S2000's unless you have a roll cage. You should check into that before you go to far down the road.

Carolina motorsports park is one of the closer tracks, depending on what kind of events you want to do. I know quite a few clubs do HPDE at CMP throughout the year. We have had two autocrosses there so far this year. It is a great site.

Cage is for wheel-to-wheel racing.

There is also Rockingham Raceway. I've done an HPDE there with SCCA.

I could be wrong or received wrong info from VIR but it is my understanding that VIR will not allow the S2K w/o a cage for anything but "low speed" charity events. I know the SCCA approves the S2K as having factory roll protection but individual clubs and tracks also have rules like the broomstick rule or no cage no run for convertibles. NCCAR in garysburg does allow the S2K w/o a cage for at least HPDE events.
