A big THANK YOU and a to Steve (sheadlee) for doing such a great job planning our day 'o fun in Asheboro today. We had a great time, the weather was beautiful, the drive was AMAZING , and the company, as always was superb.

We had a good crowd, and it was nice to finally meet some of the people behind the screen names. Great to see old friends again, as usual.

We got there around 11:00, were treated to a nice picnic lunch by sheadlee (many thanks to your friend Greg for transporting the chow), and spent some time alternately feeding and beating off the killer geese.

Then....it was off to the drive, which I must say was one of the best I've seen in in a while. VERY nice roads, challenging pace, and even some very easy-going local police. One spinout, but no damage done; always a good thing!

We re-grouped at the zoo, where about 9 of us went through the animal kingdom, and enjoyed sleeping polar bears, gaseous zebras, and a number of "fake" birds. (according to HKStallion). Even though I lost my husband for a couple hours (there's always ONE kid that gets lost at the zoo each trip) it was a great afternoon walking from North America all the way to Africa.

The remaining die-hards went out for a nice Mexican dinner, and spent a little more "quality" time in the parking lot with the cars and our buds. All-in-all, an EXCELLENT day! Thanks again Steve, for all you did!

Spin out... that was me.. even that I had fun... It was the virgin spin out for me on the S Although there was no damage but I do have some bad news for many people... The video tapes did not work at all... I know many were anticipating the tape but came home and my co-pilot somehow managed to tape nothing... but tried to hold onto the camera when I was traveling at xxx mph... Anyway... I am going to buy a new camcorder and apologize for people who wanted to see the tapes. ALSO a big apology to S2kShifter. We were at Wendy's and I saw u drove by, I was standing by the curb waving but you just drove passed us. I stood by the curb for the next 10 minutes hoping that you would turn back... Hope you made it home ok.

That was a great event for sunday. I had a lot of fun and thanks to many GREAT people to make it happen and make it fun. Hope everyone had a good time like I did (NOT in reference to the spin out). Hope we will do another one this summer again.

Thanks to all for the fun day. We had to skip out after the drive to do some paperwork for some employment agencies for some meetings on Monday. Once we get jobs, we'll be some major players in NC.

It was a blast fellows, This was my first meet and it was great!! The ride was awesome, full of thrills spills and great cop! Anyway guys I fope to do this again sometime

 

Wow! What an amazing experience!! Best fun outside the track I've ever had! I'm with S2kmaniac81 in that this was my first S2kI meet and I was just blown away by how much fun it was. It's no doubt our cars were made for roads just like those! My car was smiling just as much as I was throughout the whole time. I was so ready for a second run once we got back (I think I asked for seconds), so we gotta do another one sometime soon!
