I hate it in the gf's Jetta, but I think the S could have def. used a "lower-volume-when-slowing-down" feature. I grow tired of having to cut the music up and down in the city.

Just ordered a new Clarion digital media server head unit (FZ 501, because its primary purpose is to play digital music), Alpine Type S speakers (the original SPS-600c models for their shallow mounting depth), and an AXXESS OEM controls adapter (yes, I considered the Modifry, but im a cheap bastid and didn't want to wait) from Amazon, because my car's audio absolutely sucks ballz and I can't take it anymore.
I haven't bought a CD since the 90s and the OEM head unit only picks up the garbage radio stations in my area. ugh...
I'll tell you how the install goes after I'm done. Hopefully I won't break anything, but listening to crappy music all day is worse than sitting at work.

Actually if you have the seperate tweeters the OEM speakers can sound quite good. IF you have an aftermarket radio.
It is actually the OEM headunit which does not have enough power to make the speakers sound good.

Stock radio def sucks. First mod I did was ditch the crap door speakers and add a crossover and about 800 watts of power. Now can hear it with the top down earplugs in and 70mm titanium exhaust screaming at any speed. Well maybe not hear
it but I can at least feel it.
