Well, you could have picked a time and place for that soccer challenge you talked so much about....

It would have only been 45 minutes but you would have had the rest of the day to 'process' the lesson :-)

Well, ODP is not something they pay a lot of attention in SAmerica. Playing for a farm team is usually deemed a better career track.

I played in high school and in a U17 farm team (1 year), then I moved to Australia and since college sports are not big there I played in the top 'amateur' league two years with the hopes of making it into the "State League" which is the preamble for pro Soccer there . We won the championship the first year - 92- ,the second year I changed teams ( bad mistake). It was the bottom team of State League that got demoted to the amateur league
(I did not find out until it was too late).

I struggled with the change of team and since I did not have much history or connections there (In State League) I did not make much headway. I went to a couple of try outs for State League teams and got asked to train for the summer with one of them.

The next semester I had to take up a full time job and with
College still going on soccer lost out and I never played again
competitively. That was back in 94. I played in a 'social' league
(no training, show up if you want, go drinking after the game) in 95 and 96. Haven't played a full game since.

How about you?

Thats pretty impressive.

For me lets see I started when i was 4 in texas... played just rec type stuff until i was 10, played one year of challenge, pretty much intermediate type play, then moved to select (top division) I played on the 85 CASL Elite for every year of select I have played in NC. For all 5 years I was on it our team was consistantly ranked in the top 5. And then 2 years ago, In a tournament in Tampa I was taking a hard right cut, and got slide takled by a kid going to opposite direction tor my acl and some other crap so it essentially stopped there. I have played on the varsity team in high school, and my season for that will be starting here pretty soon. ODP on and off for 3 years.

I just got wore out of missing so much school to travel, never being home on weekends and so forth. Practice every day 5-8, 2 games on saturdays, tournaments while not in season everyweekend, essentially in any city in the US. And then over the summer we always took 2 european or south american 15 day tours.

Thats essentially it, you guys ought to head out one night and watch a game out at athens

Dude,

Get your bored butt to Wilmington and put my brake callipers back together for me! I'll buy your lunch at Wrightsville Beach!

Seriously! I've got to get them finished by Wednesday morning and won't have time tomorrow (their second coat of paint is drying tonight).

I'd go but I am still having to do work for free at my old job. Word of
advise : If you ever sell your business beware of 'transitioning' clauses

When I was on the farm team we trained 3-7 (pm). We started school at 7 am and finished
by 2 pm, then it was a mad rush to get to the field 4 days/week. The most serious injury I had
was internal bleeding on my right knee in 93.Other than that it was normal stuff (twisted ankles,
sore ligaments, bruises, grass cuts, etc.)

Athens, GA? maybe... being unemployed makes it easy to plan trips
