Some hotel suggestions for Charleston Weekend
everyone!
Really looking forward to the Charleston gathering on 11/6. As most folks will be coming from out of town and want to stay a night or two, I though I'd list some of the hotels in the area you might want to check out.
If none of these suit, you might want to check out Charleston.com webiste and click on accomodations. LOTS of cool bed & breakfast places to choose from.
You can check out availability and rates on all these places on Expedia, or any of the other travel sites.
For downtown, I'd say try the following: (stay downtown if you want to be
able to walk most places), including home from the bar!
Harbor View Inn - very cool, old warehouse converted. Right at the waterfront park.
Anchorage Inn - pretty much the same as above
Holiday Inn Charleston Historic District (on Calhoun, a bit far from the Market, but is a fairly new place)
Mills House (expensive, but very luxurious)
Charlteston Place (used to be the Omni) - very expensive, but sometimes they have special deals. Luxurious and romantic; serious bucks, though.
Days Inn Historic District - It's a basic older Days Inn, but right in the middle of everything, and (relatively!) inexpensive.
Across the Ashley River (where California Dreaming is located), they have built a number of new hotels, that are pretty inexpensive. You'd have to drive downtown, but it would be a pretty view of the marsh/river: (for all of these, request a waterview room)
Comfort Inn Riverview
Hampton Inn Riverivew
Marriott Courtyard - Charleston Riverview - overlooks the Ashley Marina.)
Fairfield Suites (may be Fairfield Inn...I forgot!)
In Mount Pleasant (Just across the Cooper River Bridges, where the Yorktown and OUR BOAT is located
Hilton Charleston Harbor Resort (Expensive, but very nice resort)
Quality Inn Patriot's Point. - not a great view, but good location and a nice place; full breakfast, etc.
In Isle of Palms, there's a place called the Seaside Inn, kind of like a condo, that might be nice if you want to stay on the beach
Hope this helps!

But I thought we were all staying on the boat with you?
Personally, I like the adjacent Hilton; very cool.
ALSO...If anyone wants to come by the boat before heading over to the Wild Wing for lunch, just PM me and I'll send directions and exact boat location. Can't wait!

We're in at the Quality Inn Patriot's Point. There seems to be no rooms available in downtown Charleston Friday or Saturday nights so we'll just have to party at Patriot's Point.
Quality Inn web page here
Tip: Go for the "internet user" rate and save a few bucks.

I won't be able to make it for the 11/6 meet, but I will be in Charleston tonight. I am helping work the Hootie concert at Family Circle Stadium (I work for the ticket company that sold the tickets for it).
So if anyone sees a Spa zipping around, that's me!
