He says it depends....... cities have thier own ordinances, and he has seen in Horry people being charged upwards of $500.00. These laws are set by the city councils. Highway Patrol (of which he is) state wide carries a charge of $225.00. This charge is set by the state legislators.

Hope this helps.

I had my tint on one of my cars at 15% and got pulled and fined with a ticket that was more than twice the cost to put it on. The cop stated that if I removed it, he would drop the fine in half...... STILL... that was how much it cost to put the crap on in the first place.

Ever since then I have owned roadsters.... and because of the close quarters, and that fact that you look rediculous should you have the top down and need to roll the windows for whatever reason, I haven't tinted since. If I had a larger car, sure... but being 6ft, I don't need the cabin feeling smaller than it is.

well my 2 cent. on my s2k i have 20% all the way around witch is close to 15% and the law is 27%net and in s,c around spartanburg area it is a 150.00 fine if u get caught. but on my xb i have whole front windsheild 50% and double 20% on driver and passanger and the back is 20% over factory and 3% tint over the rear again.. you cant see my tv's at night . Although going threw road blocks they didn;t say to much, all i can say is if u go to dark they might fine you then you remove the tint go to court they will drop the ticket.. if u did 20% you shouldn;t have any problems in your S its a little dark depending on the way you look at it

Well an update I just got 15% all the way around. Looks really good and i'm not claustrophobic from it. I'm happy. If I get pulled for it a lot I will just take it off.
