You might consider ebay, you could save a couple grand, but you may have a little more work to do and you may have a little more risk.

Good luck. I doubt that you will find a new one for that price, but you never know until you try.

I think you could get one for 29k-30k new... talk them down.. just be like "you know you have the 03s coming in and you have to get rite of the 02s" and mess like that

That tactic may work later this year when there are actually '03s on the lot, but I would be willing to bet that most dealers will simply hold their inventory until they have to sell them.

The other thing is that cash is king. You know, if you can arrange external financing or can use a home equity line of credit to cover the cost, then you might be able to go in and get a grand or so off. Again, I would be surprised, but it might happen.

I lived in Charlotte and looked long and hard for an S2k. I called almost every dealer in N and S Carolina. You will not find one at that price. You could get a nice used 2001 in that price range. 2 dealers I know have a standing offer to by any S2000 new from other dealers for 31,000.00. Most dealers don't even have one in stock. I do know the Hickory NC dealer had someone order a blue and they canceled. He called me this weekend trying to sell it to me at sticker. I have a car on order coming in next week at 32,000 even and I don't care for the dealer in Hickory so I told him I had no interest.
