S2000 shop in Charlotte area?
So I've decided to upgrade to some AP2 retainers and keepers for some peace of mind. Has anyone had this done at a shop in the Charlotte area? I don't think I will be attempting this myself..

I just got my retainers and keepers replaced by 42 Autosports in Concord. I got a compression test first to verify it was healthy first, and they replaced my plugs. The team seems very knowledgable and competent, but quite pricy. After dropping just shy of a grand, they wanted to milk another $50 for a PCA tech inspection.

I went back and looked at the exact numbers and it was $813.74. The compression test and plugs accounted for $194 of that. I don't think it was unfair...just pricy.
I was a little perturbed they wanted another $50 for the tech inspection.

Nearly $200 for a simple compression test? Wow...they're really proud of their work. Or did they put new plugs in for you?

I would hope that there are some good S2000 guys local that could help you out in doing this swap at their house! If they won't drive over to Chapel Hill and I will do it for you. Did mine already and it is not that hard. Little time consuming but that is about it.
Shops gotta make money to stay in business though!

To help others in the Charlotte area. I ended up going to Import at the Lakes in Cornelius, NC. The mechanic's Adam and Patrick were awesome and I was out the door just under 500 bucks (included parts and labor)! I highly recommend them for other mechanic work too, very trustworthy and fair.
Tell them Nick and Mike Short sent ya too, they will treat ya right!
