Default repair shop recommendations?

long story short, my S needs a repair shop thanks to a hit and run. i'm in asheville and am not having much luck finding one that comes very highly recommended. i'm willing to travel into greenville or even charlotte if necessary to find someone that's good.

so, any suggestions on who does exceptional paint work and can really comb through my front suspension to ensure nothing is out or sorts?

I have a great one, but it is in Burlington. PM me if this is not too far away, and I'll send contact info.

They have done 3 Ss recently, and all have been superb. they mainly restore old classics, but do body work on current cars (at a GREAT price) to keep the money flowing...

I have seen some of the work from the shop that Dave is talking about and is very good.

you know it doesn't look TOO bad but i've had it happen once before (on my previous car) and the recommended shop did a horrible job! it looked ok at first but 6 months later and the paint was bubbling off, non oem panels etc. i refuse to go through that again so i'm willing to do what it takes to have everything done right; that and i'm concerned about an average place doing a bad job on the paint.

this is what she looked like a couple weeks ago

and now this

geico's quote was to repair the fender, i'm not big on that happening. considering that the damage is right on the lip i'm going to fight like mad to have a new fender hung. biggest concern is the steering rack/suspension as the wheel took 90% of the hit from the truck. now my steering wheel is off about 30 degrees and she's a bit erratic on the road.

what do i need to be sure of as far as paint is concerned so it hopefully doesn't look like it's too far off? i'm guessing with spa they'll need to blend quite far into the door and i've been told they can't just use the paint code and shoot.

When i painted my bumpers, ihad to get the paint shop to shoot a spectrum photo pic to match the paint so it would not be a different shade. as for the damage, yeah i'd raise hell for a new fender. as much as i hate to say it , a honda shop with a body shop might be your best bet for a quality repair.

i had damage in the same spot on the other side. I took it to a place in lake norman. they had a good rep and did awesome work with on the fender. I had them do both fenders, hood and front bumper as a refresh from rock chips and for the most part it looked good. Hood was a little orange peal but the color was spot on. the work on the jacked fender was awesome but the paint i give only an 8 of 10.

keep in mind, if you replace the fender you may not get new, or even a stock part. also, you will no longer have a vin number on the fender. you may take more of a hit if people thing the wreck was so bad you needed a new fender. your new fender maybe a china made part made of thin china steal.

good luck!
