Anyone else notice that ever since last week Raleigh is swarming with State Troopers? I'm seeing people pulled all over the place, I've been followed twice (not speeding, mind you, just in traffic), and have driven through at least two speed traps on surface streets - unusual for a ST to be doing that off a highway.

If you're in or around Raleigh, keep your head up.

 

Not just Raleigh - they were thick as thieves in unmarked cars up and down I85 last weekend between mebane and Charlotte. Must be a crackdown going on..

I read recently that because of the economic downturn and the decreasing tax revenue caused by it, states and municipalities are upping enforcement and using fines to supplement.

It's going to be a tough Summer.

Be very careful going into small towns. They are the worst.

I've heard also that there's an unmarked Dodge Magnum lurking in the area.

Me, I don't really speed much. Especially now that the DD is the F250.

 

i havent noticed any shooting Ka band in the area they always are on K it seems like

 

This was a few months ago but the ST's had a speed trap on 540 between I-40 and 55. They were using laser from the flyover bridge at the davis drive exit. I was very lucky not to get a ticket.

I seldom miss a beat about simply pressing CRUISE on the steering wheel each time I find myself in a different speed zone. Yeah, I get passed by pretty much everyone during daily commute & such now ...but then again, I also get passed by the po-po as well
