I spoke to the guy that runs the Mid Atlantic region of NASA and he told me that they wont allow S2000's without a 4 point roll bar. I am not sure about the south region. I have seen many pictures of guys AUTO-Xing without a rollbar so I am not sure about that.
Also, different groups have different definitions of what defines a "4 point roll bar." So everyone knows, at least with THSCC, a Cusco bar is NOT considered a workable option. The big reason for this is the way its designed. The 3rd and 4th points - that go back from the main hoop rearward, towards the trunk - are curved on the Cusco (and, I believe, on the Safety 21 bar as well). This IIRC is to accomodate the factory rollover hoops. The curve in those tubes is bad. In a serious rollover, those bars are at risk of folding over, making the bar fairly unsafe.

Well, looks like the Harddog bar might be in my future in the next year or so. I really want to take the S2000 out on track, but I want to keep it as my DD as well.
Rough trade off, but I doubt I'd be the first doing it . Yay for speed.

I did some research on tracking the S2000 a while back. I seem to remember to do it right you needed more than just an aftermarket rollbar and window nets. I think a driver's harness and an aftermarket seat were needed also. Doing the installation of these presented a new set of challenges if the car was also a daily driver.
Good Luck,

Good Luck,
There is no requirement for seats or harnesses. A hard top is not required. Factory seat belts are fine, and yes, arm restraints can be used with them if necessary.
As always, if you have harnesses or something, you need to have "equal protection" for the passenger.
Hope that helps you guys.
I've got a field trip for a photography class I'm enrolled in on this Saturday, so I may be late. How long are you guys planning on sticking around?
