Raleigh Meet
#35
Hey All,
As a recent transplant from G-boro (but not new to the area though, I've lived in Raleigh, Durham, Cary & Holly Springs) it's good to see some social action in the triangle. I'll try to make it with wife.
Autocross season also starts soon. Anybody race with Tarheel Sports Car Club? I noticed little auto-x participation from the G-boro S2000 crowd in general. I will make as many Triangle and Triad auto-x as possible this year.

I should be doing a full season in the S2000 in AS. Anyone who hasn't taken a crack at autocross in their S2000 is truly missing out. The cars are just phenomenal autocross machines, even factory stock.

At our event last weekend, there was a guy with an AP1 who had the Hard Dog bolt-in roll bar. It was a nice piece of kit. But the installation was apparently a son of a gun, and required a fair amount of cutting up of plastic and other bits of the car. Not something I'm going to be doing to my car - track stuff is what the CRX is going to end up being for.

I spoke to the guy that runs the Mid Atlantic region of NASA and he told me that they wont allow S2000's without a 4 point roll bar. I am not sure about the south region. I have seen many pictures of guys AUTO-Xing without a rollbar so I am not sure about that.
