just got the message 
lemme see what i can do. we normally drive up thursday to Raleigh and chill with friends until sat morning. then tear up the blue ridge on our way to the dragon. might be able to change it up

This sounds great! From Mebane, driving about 5 over, it's 5.5 hours to Fontana including a 30 min stop for food and gas. So if we pull out of Mebane at 10, we should hit Fontana between 3 and 3:30 all things being equal. I'm then planning to scurry down to the Foothills to meet up with the OKI gang coming in from that direction.
IIRC, Fontana check-in time is 4pm.
