Got into an incident this morning on the way to work...
I had just taken a left turn onto New Hill Rd. from the US 1 off-ramp. I was going around 25 mph as I drove over the overpass, which was still icy/wet from last night's snow. I was about to grab third gear when I feel the rear slip out. The car spun to the left... I tried to correct but had no traction. The front driver's side corner ended up colliding with a concrete abutment/curb that was about 12" high. The force of the impact knocked me back to the middle of the road, where I was finally able to correct and pull over. Luckily, there was no nearby traffic or other vehicles involved.
With a terrible feeing in my stomach, I got out of the car. The entire driver side corner of my front bumper was torn out. The corner of the fender around the headlight was bent, while the headlights themselves were pressed back into the body. My front driver side wheel also hit the curb, which bent the rim and damaged the tire and fender liner. The underbody tray was also damaged. Luckily, the hood was intact, as well as the radiator and my cold air intake. However, I'm very worried about my suspension, namely the lower control arms.
It was the most gut-wrenching feeling ever. I'm very aware that the S2000 requires extra skill and attention in the wet, especially in conditions like this morning. It's not lost on me when it rains/snows. Before leaving for work, I saw the coverage of all the wrecks in the morning news. I reminded myself to take it easy, and I feel like I did. Despite my caution, this still somehow managed to happen.
I keep reliving the entire 3-4 second moment when I started to spin... I can't stop thinking about what I could've done differently. But I suppose the damage is done, and I just have to move on.
She's getting fixed at Apex Auto Body (again)... I should just tell Darrin to keep a small supply of AP2 bumpers on hand for me. I hope she'll be ready in time for the next Cars and Coffee meet. Until then, I'll be grieving...

Damn John, that sucks!!
Sounds like it could have a lot worse.
Hopefully you aren't without the S to long.
You can obviously still come and hangout at the meet. Just make sure it is back on the road for the VIR event .

Thanks for the kind words, guys. The trooper who came to help me was actually one of the nicest people I've ever met... he complimented the car and seemed to understand my situation. Here are some pics of the damage:
Here's the car as of this afternoon at Apex Auto Body. Looks like suspension damage
