Portland,

I have the YOKOHAMA AVS SPORT 215/45/17 2sets 70% tread.
If you are interested it,please send me PM.
But I think you have the 18 inch wheel.

I running the POTENZA RE070 225/45/17 for Front and the ADVAN A046 235/45/17 for Rear.
The RE070 are STI`s OEM tire and A046 are EVO8`s OEM tire.
RE070 are very good in the dry, much better than S02,in the rain not bat too.(I think same as S02)
A046 are good in the rain, but not good in the dry.(I think S02 or S03 are better in the dry)
I`m not sure about wear, because my engine was blow.

People are going to choose the type of tire based on their driving habits. The S2000 is a weekend fun car to me and I will go around curves at rediculous speeds at times so I pretty much have to keep the S02.

I could be risking my life to save $200 to go with a cheaper tire. It is not worth it. I may keep in mind some tires that handle better on dry conditions though even if it costs more.

I try not to drive in the rain although it is unavoidable at times. I just take it slow and easy and realize how easy the S02s can hydroplane, slide, etc.

I think I have decided on Toyo Proxes T1-S. Everything I have read is that they are comparable to the s03, and are slightly better in wet condtions.

I found them at Colony Tire for $623 out the door. (That is for a 17" tire)

I am going to Colony Tire and getting the deal. Buying 3, getting 1 for free.

I also checked out Edge Racing, but for $623, I am getting the tires mounted and balanced from Colony as well. I think it would cost me more than $23 to get the tires mounted if I ordered from Edge Racing. Thanks for the link though.

I was running stock size (MY 2002) Dunlop Sport SP FM901's at the Dragon this past weekend. They were brand new as I had them put on 2 days before leaving for the Dragon and I liked them alot. I drove the hell out of that car on the Dragon and they felt great. I know they aren't rated as high as some of the ones mentioned above, but they felt great, and I've had the Yoko AVS ES100's, S-02's, and Goodyear Eagle F1's. I haven't tried the Khumo Ecsta MX's yet, but I've heard some great things about them, and the price is good. I have to admit though, the profile of them is hideous.
My $0.02

I'm about to put some Michelin Pilot's on mine. Then I'll really feel like Jensen Button!
