I fell in love with the original GT40 in the 60s. The new GT is even better.


I really really want one of these. Only problem besides the price is it would probably kill me on the dragon.

I dont think it would kill you in the dragon. I have never driven one, but they are supposed to handle real well. I just testdrove a viper a couple days ago and I am really depressed about the overwhelming disappointment. I am now going to have to join you in my desire for the Ford GT.

 

What i meant was that I would have to push the limits and that's a killer up there.

 

The Viper is the most raw car I've ever driven. My boss has a 94 that he let me take for a drive last spring. There's nothing like the power it puts out, and this is the first gen Viper with 50 less HP than they have now, but the clutch that might as well be a concrete wall, no driving aids at all (ABS would be really helpful since you can only push the brake pedal about 1" before locking up the wheels), and it just felt really big on the road.

But thats what sports cars are supposed to be. . .completely NOT practical at all, and the Viper is great at that. No roof, no door handles, no windows. . .just some seats and a V10 and big expensive tires.

I wish I could get a drive in a Ford GT. Would be hella fun to see one of very few American supercars.

 

Better hurry up and get one. They are not making them anymore.

 

the '04 viper i drove had more problems than just being raw. it was not a proper driver's car. nothing was positioned to increase driving enjoyability. i couldnt drive it slow or fast well at all. in fact, every part of the car had something wierd and bad about it. i hope i can drive a gt soon so i can get excited again.
