No April Fool's Joke Here...
First off, by the grace of God, a couple of Guardian Angels riding with me, and a very well designed car, am I able to be here and type this...
Other than one small nick on my left leg and a bit stiff all over, I am doing okay all things considered... Perhaps a bruised ego and loss of pride are affecting me most...
Hadn't really drove my car all week b/c it's been extremely busy and I've been too tired to mess with it... After I get back in yesterday around 2:45-3:00pm, I figured I'd go out for a nice little solo ride and relieve some stress and get my mind off things... Have been on this particular road a few times before so it wasn't new to me by any means... It's a twisty, fun road and I enjoy driving it from time to time...
Well long story short... After having a little fun, spirited run on it, I came up on this one semi-tight curve... Now I slowed up and downshifted like normal b/c I knew this one was gonna be a lil' tricky and thought I was at a safe enough speed to maintain the curve... WRONG!!!! Completely oversteered the car, tried to save it, but ran out of road... From what I could tell passenger side fender hit the ditch and flipped the car over on top!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I never lost consciousness during this and remember landing on top, holding the steering wheel, and being suspended out of my seat but with the seatbelt holding me tight... Luckily the people were home and outside and dialed 911 immediately for me... The one guy came over and asked if I was okay and opened the door for me and I was then able to undo the seatbelt and crawl and wiggle out of the car...
Extremely nice folks and the neighbor one driveway down owned a towing service, so he was able to load it on a rollback and keep it there until this week when the ins. co. can do they're thing... Had exceptionally fast response time for the local EMS workers to arrive and check me out and they were all very surprised to see me out of the car and walking around w/o any injuries... State man came also and I got a ticket for unable to maintain safe speed for the situation and crossing left of center... He put me at app. 60mph... I thought I was a lil' less than that at that time approaching the curve, but I honestly don't know... Either way it was too fast for the curve...
I'm pretty certain she's a total loss... But a car can be replaced... Folks, we own a very well constructed, tough car and I'm thankful for it... This was total driver's error and you never know when something like this may happen... Funny thing was I knew I wasn't going that fast in the car at that time, just misjudged the curve and was too fast for it... Please be careful out there folks and especially at the upcoming WTD '07 event... These cars do have a limit and unfortunately I crossed that with mine...
I'll try to get pics up shortly, but they're all on Heather's camera phone and I'm not certain how to upload 'em... Hopefully the ins. co. will do me right with this deal... I've never had to make a claim with them before and I've been with 'em for about 6-7 years... I'll be back around with another S2K, don't worry... I'll just be all the more wiser... Thankfully I have the chance to live and learn on this one...

We heard about this yesterday at Raul's, Brandon.
So sorry to hear it but so glad that you're ok. Glad to hear you'll be back in an S2000 when you get sorted out.
Let us know if we can do anything for you or Heather.

Brandon, I'm SO very thankful you're OK, and I know Heather is counting her blessings as well. I'm really sorry to hear this.
Several of us will be at airgate's new place this afternoon, putting a new soft top on my car and generally getting in the way of their unpacking , so if you get a chance and feel up to it, stop by.
We'd all like to see you.

Good grief - thank goodness you're OK! YOu're right a car can be replaced, and my respect for our little bundles of joy increases ever time I hear one of these stories. But I can't go loosing neighbors I don't even have yet!
Hope the soreness goes away quickly.

Wow, i'm so sorry to hear this. As you already pointed out, the important thing is that you are ok. Best of luck in dealing with insurance and getting into a new S2K.
BTW, I can't believe that a trooper would issue you tickets after such an accident!! I've never heard of anything like that, I guess things are done differently down here.
