I'll ask *another* question to Airgate...245/45's in the rear???

You are absolutely RIGHT! The Kumho Supra's are NOT in the same class as the S-02's! I never said they were.

Now, I'll tell you that I was probably the most skeptic guy around when it came to changing out of the S-02's.

Afterall, I had the Michelin Pilot's and absolutely HATED them! Plus, they only lasted 7k miles with very moderate driving.

Then, the S-03 series. . .and those were IMO. I really believe that had I ordered the wider (245's) in the rear, that I would have liked them. Mack has the S-03's and has NO problem with handling. However, JBoggs currently has S-03's and dislikes them because of handling and tread life. My S-03's were quickly being worn down and was quite noticeable only after a few thousand (maybe 5k) miles.

So, with that experience, I've tried my best to stick with the S-02's. I don't have any real issues with the S-02's other than their "wet" traction, wear factor and overall cost. I'm already at 21k miles on my '02 that I took delivery in October.

So, when I heard that Dave (w1ngman) had chosen the Kumho Ecsta Supra's, I was in fear for him. However, it was later when I drove his S2000 and later he drove with me and in front that I saw they handled just fine for what I need. Following Rick Hesel throughout the countryside should count for some sort of tire "test."

Honestly, I'm happy with them and happier with the extra $250 I have in my bank. Hmmm, time for more mods!

Airgate, do you think I would be happy with the Kumhos??? I drive moderately hard, occationally at high speeds... I just want to make sure if I decided to hit it once I would not be in any danger with these tires. Also if I took a 90 degree turn at 25-35mph would I loose the back-end?
