new member, and autocrosser!
Hey all!
I am new to S2ki.com, having just bought a 2007 GPW back in December. It's been a great car so far, and I can easily see how everyone is such a fan of it! Bummed I've missed the last couple of meets at the Raleigh Brier Creek C&C, but hopefully can make it in April.
I've been autocrossing with the Tarheel Sportscar Club for the past couple of years, using my DD 2009 WRX. Now that I have the S2k, it's going to be the weekend/autocross car for (hopefully) the next 4-5 seasons at least! I've already got new shocks/springs and a softer rear bar on it, and will be getting tires and alignment over at Performance Chassis this week. I'm still waiting on a front bar solution, thinking the Saner bar saga will be concluded soon--and I'd prefer not to pay up for a Gendron bar....
I also wanted to let the Carolinas forum know about the upcoming Tarheel Sportscar Club autocross schedule. Our Novice School is going to be on March 17 at the Danville Airport starting at 9am, but get there a bit earlier for tech and registration. It's $45 for the School, which also gets you entry into the Points event on the 18th--if you still have some tread left on your tires after spending all day driving on Saturday! If you can't make the event next week, no worries--we'll be at NCCAR near Roanoke Rapids in April, and hopefully at a new site in Burlington in May. Check the club website for details, or post up a response here and I can help get you the info you need!

The club is friendly, down-to-earth and easy to get along with. We have a lot of S2000 owner/drivers--approximately 15 in STR alone. If you are around, please come join us--for only $35 you can join the club and get the member rates for all events.
Looking forward to seeing/meeting you in a parking lot soon--whether hanging out or driving!
Thanks,
Steve Carter

Welcome welcome!
Excellent choice on the year and color IMO haha.
Thank you for posting all the autocross info as well! I hope to see you at a meet pretty soon (I plan on hitting some NC meets soon). Any chance you'll be at Wake The Dragon? https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/912...pdated-012112/
Again, welcome and make yourself at home!

I'll have to check my schedule about Wake the Dragon--sounds like it should be a good time! Looking forward to seeing a sea of S2ks next weekend! IIRC, we'll be parking next to each other in the paddock for a group photoshoot--may be up to a dozen cars, close to 15 drivers

CCR's novice school is this Saturday at Metrolina as well, followed by our 2nd points event on Sunday. I will be at both of those and invite anyone who finds Danville too far away to join us! They are at Metrolina Expo right by Northlake Mall in North Charlotte.
Good luck to everyone!

I found your THSCC schedule and it looks like some of your events are reasonably close to Richmond, VA. I'd like to brand out and try running with some other groups this year so I might try to make one of the NCCAR events or something in Danville.
I see you guys have a few track days at VIR...for the s2000 does it require an aftermarket rollbar? What if I have a hard top on the car?
