Need a route from Charlotte to Asheville
Planning to take the S to Asheville Saturday... Need good directions for back-roads. It's only a few months old and I have had a bad week. Require some stress relief.

Take Hwy 9 (exit 74) off US-74 to Lake Lure (good pizza joint), and nice grill with a view(Bay Front Grille)), follow 9,64,74 through Chimney Rock (take a break if it's not crowded). Then follow 9 north to I-40 (Black Mountain).
If you want to avoid the Lake Lure & Chimney Rock traffic, then follow VFROOOM's advice and take US-64 out of Hendersonville & pick up 9 near Bat Cave.

You could also check out running the Blue Ridge Run on Saturday with Dean2900.
