It was a great time. The 8 or so S2ks got plenty of DNFs in the morning session. For some reason we could not get it straight (some of us). But that was resolved in the afternoon session.

Congrats to everyone who came out to play! I just hope it was worth the cold and wind And I have to point out that in a field of 7 S2000s, several of them experienced autoXers, the fastest time for that class was put up by a miata owner in someones S!!! Ouch, that stings. And I think Highlander is going to break his legs!
I do hope that many of you return for some SCCA events next year. Maybe Huskergirl has caught the AutoX bug? Happy

It was a madly disorganized autoX. And it certainly was challenging. Tightest course I've ever seen. But that was part of the fun. It seemed to be a challenge just to complete a clean run. I know if I can figure out a course like that. Manage a couple clean runs with only one DNF, I can tackle the tightest course at an SCCA event! I just feel bad for those mustang guys, they need a lot wider course than we do!

I'm just glad nobody hit the fence!
I agree that it was madly disorganized, but I did like the overall attitude of the NASA folks. Rather than the strict rules and making sure there were as many people as possible attending that day, they limited the number of folks that could come out and made the event more enjoyable for the driver. They were very care free! I just hope they consider safety a little more next time because I think that the fence and light posts on the perimeter were a little too close!

Glad to hear it, Kalan! I agree with you on the course layout, Garrett. That first turn was scary! I thought for sure that someone was going to eat it there. Still, was definitely the most disoragnized autoX I've ever been to. And those tiny cones got blown around by all the air flowing off of my car... Those that bailed early didn't miss much. I'll probibly head to the next NASA autoX if it's at a different site, but they didn't impress me with how they run an event. Glad so many folks came out. Anyone interested is welcome to come to the BMW club event at the Michelin Proving Grounds on 12/6. I live about 45 minutes away and have a spare bedroom and a fold-out couch available... I'll bump the post about the BMW club event just in case...
