My store/office is Closing!

My store/office is Closing!
I can't believe how some things develop. Month after month, you do more than what is expected and still, nothing can save you from the Corporate axe. If they crunch numbers hard enough and long enough, guess anything they do will make sense. And with that, SunCom has decided to close the New Bern retail store and my office.
Sad as that is, I'm still employed. I'll actually co-manage the Jacksonville market and our 5 stores from that location. Bad news is that I can't drive the S everyday (it's a 75 mile round trip). My baby already has 75k miles on her! And besides, I'd rather drive my S to do something FUN, not to drive her that far to WORK!
So, currently, I'm considering a 2nd car. But beyond that, I'm just not happy with the company's decision. Customers within the market will have to travel upwards of one hour to visit a retail store for support. Another disappointment is the sudden decision to make this happen. I learned of this on Monday morning. Effective immediately as we need EVERYTHING out of the store/office by the 31st.
And just like moving out of your house, moving out of an office is a job indeed. Soooo many things to collect and package. While we have movers for the big stuff, it's the little stuff that drives you nuts!
So, oh well. . .as the story goes.

Sorry to hear the bad news, Raul. Good luck with the transition... maybe one day you'll come up with a great idea like the pet rock or a jump to conclusions mat and become filthy rich. Then you can say to the corporate A-holes!

Raul,
Sorry to hear that man .
Unfortunately, it seems as though the corporate environment (today) asks you to work your tail off, and then they have no problem cutting people loose...at the expense of their customers . Is this any way to run a business????
I'm happy to hear that you are still gainfully employed...a sudden loss of income can be rather traumatic.
Best wishes, and continued success with the upcoming changes.
PS If all else fails, then jump in the S, find a curvy stretch of road, and drive wide open until !

BAD SunCom! BAD SunCom!
Very sorry to hear that, Raul! I'm so glad you're still employed though. If you're unhappy, it's easier to look for another job while you have one!
No question on the second car, though. For your new ride, just go here:

That really sucks, Raul.
We are probably headed towards shutting down this location within the next two years. Unfortuately, just as in your case, I think it's the wrong thing to do for the business and for our customers. That makes it that much more difficult to accept the loss of good & loyal employees.
I'm glad you're still working but I'm sure that this will make you consider alternatives. Everyone that I know--and I mean everyone--that has left this company either by choice or not has come out better and happier on the other side.
I hope the new job turns out better than you expect and other options arise if that's what you want. In my case, thank god for Cerulean Arthropod.

How old are you, if you don't mind me asking?
I wouldn't wprry about it. You have the experience now, so you can probably find a job closer to home, for possibly more $$$$....
