I'm thinking a BYO picnic in the horse country under a shady tree with some samiches and a bottle of wine would be even cheaper (and more fun).

Well, I'm eating at the Carolina Dining Room. To hell with driving nearly 4 hours to sit under a tree and eat some pasty sandwich. The $24 bargain price (as you would call it, MrDesigner $BUDGET$) includes the use of an exclusive meeting room inside Pinehurst.
Seriously, the Menu I have has appetizers from $7.95 to $11.95 and sandwiches ranging from $7.75 to $9.95.
At any rate, what in the hell are you complaining over. You booked a WHPPING $79 dinner at Biltmore!
Example. . .
Pinehurst Club Sandwich
Triple Decker of Shaved Roast Turkey Breast and Smoked Ham with Bacon and so on
$7.95
Not too bad, IMO.

l'm with you Airgate....what's up with this penny pinching stuff anyways.
This meet is all about the Pinehurst " Event Experience " not getting under a tree.
I'm sticking with the guy who can afford $ 11.00 Rum & Cokes.

Perfectly said VFROOOM! Damn, the $11 Rum&Coke had me burst out laughing this morning, thanks for that! I think MyBad is slowly becoming a Mustang owner. First the whole "Building the Mustang" video at his home during a get together. Then the A/C in his garage. Now he wants to get intoxicated under a tree. Perfect setting for a 'Stang GT owner.

I'm still counting only 11 S2000's. I don't see the hesitation with folks. Pinehurst is so close to these other major cities. What a great day trip. I expected this Pinehurst Meet, Eat and Drive to be one of the biggest Carolina meets ever. I'm not disappointed because I know the folsk who are attending will have a blast, just wish more folks would/could participate.

Well I have to bow out due to more important things like 8 year old birthday parties and Eagle Scout ceremonies.
I wish I could be there.
Hope to see you all at the Dragon.
