Default Lotus Elise Price

Anyone know what the Lotus Elise is/will be selling for. I did a price it on car point and with the sports package and leather seats, I came up with 47k.

I am wondering if this is going to be a price gouging car.

I am just daydreaming anyways because obviously the Elise doesn't suite my current needs unless I can manage to afford both the RX-8 and the Elise.

It is hard to hate a 2000 pound car that does 4.4 0-60 and 13 second 1/4 mile stock.

i would assume there will be a huge mark up. i mean there was 1500 markup on the mp3s for goodness sake! its just depends on dealer policy. i got my wrx when they just came out for factory list. but, i know plenty of people that paid 500-2500 over depending on the market.

if someone wants to shower me with a couple s2k goodies my friend from furman knows the ceo of lotus america and maybe i can work some magic. jrzs would look really spiffy on my car

I haven't heard of price gouging for deposit holders. Everyone I've talked to is paying straight MSRP:

$39995 base
$ 2400 Lotus Sport Suspension
$ 1500 hardtop
$ 1250 Touring pack (power windows, locks, leather seats, mp3 stereo,etc)

Highlander,

I didn't realize you were getting one. I am in Anderson, SC once a month or so. How about taking me for a ride one time that I am down there?

I will take you up on the offer next spring. I have a feeling the Elise is going to be more fun than the S2000.

I am assuming you are not planning on using that as a daily driver though.

$1,000 refundable deposit gets you car for MSRP, ~42k-$46k depending on options/paint...

the wait is about 12-18 months for most dealers and that may be optimistic...

I got on the list a few months ago and don''t expect until 7/05 at the earliest.
