Default It's SNOWING, it's SNOWING!

We are getting nice and steady snow now and it's finally starting to stick. It's mass histeria in New Bern! W H!

I see that Wilmy is getting only rain and Fayetteville (near cutuesdayville) is getting some snow/sleet. Raleigh looks pretty good with snow too. WOW!

And the northern guys who see 10+ inches are laughing at us!

I got up this morning and when I saw the snow I was a little dissapointed at how little it was... so I went back to sleep (it was 6:00 am).

I got up again at 7:45 and there was a good 1+ inches on the ground. I was dancing in my room!

So I got out of the house as fast as I could and went to get the S to do a little driving on
the light snow. I thought "If you don't drive it then you won't know what it is like". I took the
video camera with me and was on my way to the storage facility in like 2 minutes.

On the way there the the ABS fired up 4 times and once I got pretty close to rear ending someone at a traffic ligt. That gave me some concern but I was determined to at least drive the S in the snow for five minutes.... or around the parking lot.... I just had to know.

When I got to the car place I took it out and S##$T! I forgot the Civic does not fit in the storage unit... it is a good foot longer than the S so the door doesn't close.... I tried a couple of times to no avail. At this point it is still snowing and I remember the pads on the S are glazed from the last track event. All the horror stories about driving with S02s in the snow started flasing through my head (even though I have brand new tires on.)

It is still snowing and my legs are starting to get cold.... So I take the S for a quick 5 minute spin around the storage facility(leaving the unit's door open). Bottom line: Not too bad. Fish tailing quite easily but if you feather the accelerator it is not a problem. Surprisingly the fronts have a lot more grip than the Civic (yeah, I know it is FWD...) and handling is way better than the Civic.

Sure, there was hardly an inch on the ground. But as a pseudo scientific test I did the same thing with the Civic and the S was way better.

In the end I decide not to take the S out... got hit by common sense? could it be that I am finally maturing??

Then I come home to read about Wizzy's Wham Bam No Thanyou Mam!... I guess I made the right call.

Here are some pics though.... excuse the small size I had the video camera and that is the best rez I can get out of it. Also, there was more snow on the parking lot where I did the driving. The photos show less than half the snow (maybe because the buildings are so close together ???)

Man its nice having the Evo in the snow. Even though the tires arent good for snow the all wheel drive is awesome. I remember taking the S out last year when the roads had a little ice on it and I was scared for my life. Nice pics there Diego! I like the last one.

Glad you came to your senses. I know I can drive in the snow, but it's all those 4WD people that think they can go 50mph in the snow. I had to put my baby out in the snow (with cover on) so I could do some shots today. I broke my hart. Nice pics Diego!

At least you are getting snow up there. WYFF news 4 needs a new weatherman. They said at 6AM this morning that we will get snow. Guess what, it never happened. Just some wintery mix and it is over by 8AM. Maybe the forecast from the weatherchannel.com will be more accurate since they are forecasting snow for next Saturday and Sunday. Last time, I went joy riding in the S was in 2002 when we got 2 inches of snow and I almost got stuck on 85N trying to get home from work at 11:30PM. It was a blast doing 360's and 180's in empty parking lots like Haywood mall.

Please, say a prayer for the S owners of Greenville to get some snow next weekend
