its not like blam all the material falls off and your brakes fail even if that happenned the backing plates will stop you sorta and theres loads of sand
but when they realy overheat the material chunks and falls away in parts then your weekend is over if you don't have spares
it can be like the worse the brakes work the more you stand on them the hotter they get sort of thing

I have an extra set of rotors because I've done track days with my old group of 4 S2000s and 2/4 would usually crack one. And having the 35$ set from autozone is very cheap backup set. Definitely pick a set of those up. Im running pretty new HP+ which I ran on my Rx8 a bunch, and know they will be fine.

If pads don't slow the car down any better they will at least give you a more consistent feel of the pedal and inspire a bit more confidence that your car will stop. I ran the same small event at the end of last year on stock pads and then the second time on HP+ and the difference was night and day. This is a small track too with only 2 real major braking zones and even at that I was over working the stock pads within 15 minutes on the track. By the end of the day I was having to hit the brakes much sooner because the pedal felt like crap and I just didn't have confidence they'd slow me down. The next time out with HP+ pads it was great. All day long I had the same braking performance I could count on. They are a good mix between street and track although they do make noise every once in a while on the street and they dust like crazy. I wouldn't skimp on the pads.

The dust is pretty insane. You cant even tell what color my wheels are after about a week. I run HP+ on my RX8 which is the daily, and the dust/noise is nowhere near as bad. Weird... but I do love braking with em.

I am going to try my best to come to this. I just picked up a really nice carhauler so I don't have to worry about being able to drive the car down and back. Now all I need is some track pads and a helmet. My car is turbo and i'm gonna be running 110 octane fuel to help keep it alive. How long are the sessions? I've never been on track before so I'm curious about how long i'll be pushing the car for. I was gonna try and pick up some tires if the money permits as well. Being that i'm a track noob is there any need to invest in a track type tires(nitto NT01) or will my standard invo's be acceptable? I have been wanting to run the car on a real track since I bought it 6 years ago. Maybe finally I'll get the chance!
