03/13/2007 - TORRANCE, Calif. - A new club racer-inspired version of the Honda S2000 will take the legendary vehicle's track-worthy performance to an entirely new level when it makes its world debut at the New York International Auto Show on April 4, American Honda Motor Co., Inc., announced today. Engineered around the expectations and needs of Honda performance enthusiasts, the S2000 CR will be available as a new trim level when the aggressively-tuned vehicle goes on sale in the fall of 2007.

I eagerly await more information about it. Saying "aggresively tuned" means absolutely nothing without details. Does it have more power? NA or FI? Bigger wheels/tires? Bigger brakes? Stiffer suspension?

One or all of these things could be considered aggresively tuned. And since the car is already $34k msrp, what will this package add on top of that? Its already a large chunk of change for what you're getting (if you buy new).

It may be nothing more than a stiffer suspension and no interior comfort bits - a stripped down S ready to go racing.

Thats what I am thnking Saki.... simular to Mazdas MX-5 Club Spec... But with that car, the price is dropped...



OR............. maybe they are going to build the 2000 - 2001 Ap1 model again!

This car has been available since 2002.

I just confirmed with my SCCA sources that the new Club Racer-inspired version will only be available in Berlina Black w/all Red Interior.

Club Racer Mods will include:

Voodoo countersunk shifter
Adjustable Koni Yellows
Ricks X Brace, Neuspeed STB
Comptech Rear Frame Brace
Comptech Lightened Flywheel w/ACT Clutch
Spoon Style Snorkle w/ K&N Filter
Drilled andSlotted Rotors w/ SS Brake lines
Oh, and most important, 9k Redline

Actually, knowing Honda it will probably be available only in white. Remember the AP2 is getting replaced in 2009, so I seriously doubt Honda is breaking out any big treats for the engine...unless it gets the new gen engine... hmmm....
