HONDA CD PREVIEW...

Yeah the spoiler and kit are horrible looking, why in the bule blazes would honda put such a thing on the S? I see where they shaved off 150 or so lbs only to add back on 60 of it. I think they should have lightened it by atleast the 150lbs and left it that way. all in all I think it's a bust

Well, you'll probably be able to buy one at a hefty discount, replace the hood and trunk with regular or aftermarket bits, and have a really well-handling S2k sans soft top for a great price.

Why's everyone hating on this thing? Yeah, the color is all wrong (should be white) and it should have lost another 50+ lbs, but other than that it is what it was advertised to be. . .a turn-key race car.
Seems like everyone was expecting something that had over 260hp (much better to drop weight and keep the same reliable engine in there than try to re-engineer it. . .its already a really high-strung engine) but looked the exact same as a regular S2000. You don't need power if you make the car light enough, drive an Elise if you don't believe me. And in terms of looks, sorry, but there are no real race cars out there that DONT have wings or other downforce items on them. Downforce and tire is what keeps this thing on the ground going through turns faster than a normal S2000.

I completely agree with what Mulder said in the Definitive CD thread... BMW didnt go and make a bastard child out of the M Z4 so why did Honda feel it was necessary to do something of that nature. I really feel the lack of not making the S2000 more powerful was a bad bad decision. It does look better in GPW tho!

Honda screwed the pooch on this one. A "club racer" should have proper rollover protection that would allow safer track use. This is a poser at best, and no more of a track car than what they already produce.
