I use 3M glaze and the compound I use is some generic. They are all the same.
Any auto parts store should have what you need.

Hey Lee, we might need to hit that with the porter cable or a rotary. I would bet you good money that Karl and I could work on that and get it ALLOT better. I am not sure if he is coming out to the Sept 5th meet but if he is and there is a power source he would give it a good shot. If you can take some better photos and post them up or PM him lets see what we can do.

I'm pretty confident that can be made to disappear. We'll put my paint meter on it, to see if those areas are thinner than the rest of the surrounding paint. If it's a large difference in thickness, we'll either have to tread lightly, or not do anything, but I doubt it'll be a huge difference. Regardless, we'll need to go gently, as that's a small area, and the paint is likely to be thin, esp. near the edges. We'll tape off the gaskets to keep those from getting hit by the machines too.

I'm planning on coming to the Sept. 5 meet, so I'll make sure and pack the rotary and a selection of polishes. It's hard to say from those pictures (which the board says I'm not allowed to view??), but I bet PO203S and a 4" green or orange DD pad will knock that right out.

Hey Karl, I didn't mean to put you on the spot without seeing it in person. Lets see if Lee can get some better pics in the daylight.

Thanks.

Hey Karl, Thanks a bunch for offering to go to all the trouble.

I'll shoot some daylight shots and PM them to you since you can't open the pics.
I am planning to go to the headlight session put on by Wingman as an observer. If you are going, maybe we can plug in the buffer there?

Doing it at the headlight thing sounds like a plan to me.

Maybe you have the album set to "private?" I think that's the default when setting up a new album.

You were right. I didn't realize. It's public now.

Yes hit it with a porter or a rotary and it should come right off.....

My car had that glaze and thought it would never come off until the other day. I was polishing the car and decided to hit it with a polishing pad and it came right off... I just used Meguiars Polishing....

OK, now that I can see the picture more clearly, that certainly looks like something I (or Kevin, or anyone else good with a machine polisher) could fix.

We need to get that white stuff out from behind your windshield weatherstripping too, while we're at it.

Thanks Karl.
Ever since I got my S and got involved in the forums, I have come to realize this is certainly all about the people and not about the cars. A great group of guys willing and anxious to help another with any problems with their "baby"

People like you and Kevin make this group what is is.
