Default Help buying a beater

Ok guys, its down to this, and if I had know this is the way everything was goingn to play out I would have kept the S and bought a beater back when, but that neither here nor there. I am in the market for a decent beater that when I'm out prospecting news clients I will not be racking up the miles on my GTO. What kinda car would you guys recommend as a beater. I have some ideas, but not any solid ones. I want to stay $3500 and under which not leaving me much, I might be willing to go up alittle bit depending on what the circumstances are.

Here are some of the cars I'm currently considering.

1. 1994+ Honda Accord or Civic
2. 1995+ Acura Integra
3. Neon, stop your laughing, only considering because I can get these things dirt
cheap from the auto auction!
4. 1995+ Eclipse
5. Mitsu. 3000GT
6. 1998+ Crown Vic(Police Package) My +1's dad has access to several of these
at a resonable price ie. $2500 or less. My goal with these are to trick it out
like a Po Po car, you know with the CB/Cell phone antenias, then go buy the
DMV, and pick up one of those NC front plates.

Whats some other things I could consider? I would really like to have a stick shift because I feel the transmissions are a little more reliable.

I was in the same boat as you last month.

I looked at Accords, Audi A4, VW Jetta, VW passat, Volvo, Saab 9-3, Integra, Prelude, pontiac grand prix and ford taurus.

You will be surprised how cheap some american cars sell for. I was finding 2001-2002 pontiac grand prix's for under 3000 b/c they had 100K miles.

Sell the GTO, buy another S, and get a Crown Vic as a daily driver - its huge, seats four comfortably, and will run forever without depreciating much since its already basically worthless.

Yeah, I have been surprised by some of the prices. I went to a sale a couple weeks back, saw a couple Ford Focuses and neons go through with 80-100K miles on them for anywhere from $800-$1400.

the older Nissan Sentras are good, CHEAP reliable cars too. They still make the 93'ish models in South America so the parts a dirt cheap too.
