The Great Tire Debate
This weekend I ordered 2 Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's for the rear of my S, from tirerack. They will replace the worn S02's currently on it. I figured I'd leave the S02's on the front as they still have some life left and replace them with Kumho's when the time comes.
So, this morning I got a voice mail from someone at TireRack concerned that I was mixing tires. They won't ship the Kumho's to me until I call to assure them that I am not mixing tires.
How dangerous is it to mix tires on the S2k? Didn't wingman have Kumho's only on the rear of the bruised bannana for awhile?
tia!

Actually, this does sound like a bad combination...
You are going from a very sticky, extra wide 225 rear to a low-rent not-so-sticky normal sized 225 (presumably, unless you are ordering 245's) in the rear, while still keeping your sticky fronts.
This will likely further exaggerate the S2000's ability to oversteer in certain situations.
