GM test drive event
http://www.autoshowinmotion.com/English/Ra...istration_2.asp
I got a postcard in the mail inviting me to attend this test drive event at the RBC Center in Raleigh from May 5th-9th. If you go to the link I posted, you can learn more. But here is the basic overview ripped from the site:
" Strap yourself into a Corvette. Grab the Wheel. Hit the accelerator. Take it for a spin. And do it again in a HUMMER H2. And again in the all-new Pontiac GTO.
Whatever type of vehicle you may want to get into next, we'll have them all right here - so you can find out which suits you best. From some of the world's most powerful sports cars, sport utilities, and luxury sedans to the most versatile family cars and trucks, you'll get a chance to drive them all!*
ZERO SALES PRESSURE
At AutoShow in Motion, nothing will get in between you and the vehicle, which means the only pressure you'll experience, is deciding which closed-circuit track to try first. At the end of it all, you'll be able to compare experiences and make up your own mind about which vehicle suits you best - without any sales pressure. Of course, should you have any questions, you can always ask any of the automotive product specialists on hand.
FUN FILLED DAY FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
We've planned this complimentary event for your driving pleasure, but feel free to bring the entire family. Driving sessions will be run all day long - rain or shine - and so will a variety of fun activities. If you are planning on making a day of it, don't bother packing a lunch, because that's free too. "
Anyway, I signed up for Saturday, May 8th at 9:30AM. The times aren't really concrete, and it sounds like you can come and go as you please. I originally signed up to bring 5 guests, but it appears that anyone can register. I thought it was an invite-only deal, but I don't think so. So.....I'm new here and thought this would be a fun way to meet a few of you guys. I know driving around some GM cars (except the Vette and a few others) doesn't sound too exciting, but it is FREE and we get free lunch too. I did a Mercedes event like this a few weeks ago in Charlotte, and it certainly kicked ass.
If some of you are interested but the time/day is a problem, I'm sure we can coordinate.

I'll be there the same day; slotted to arrive at 9am. Interestingly enough, it appears that folks that already OWN General Motors products did NOT get invites. My Corvette/Avalanche-owning friend will be with me.
I hope I enjoy this more than last year's Mazda RevItUp...
