Hi All,

My wife and I attended the dragon run today. Unfortunately we couldn't stay for the whole event but it was a lot of fun. I wanted to share a few pictures from today.

Raul and company did a fantastic job setting it up and over 80 S2000s showed up! At the time we left their were no wrecks or issues of any sort!

I also have some excellent video and I will work on getting it online sometime soon.

I'll throw a guess out there...

From the 'tossing' action of the first car, and sound of the second: billman250, followed by turbo_pwr, then njsy2k, me (heyitsgary) and finally jacko.

Real names: Bill, Dan, Jay, Gary and Mike.

That's my guess. Can anyone make a counterclaim for it being them?

 

Below is the link to another video of the Dragon. This one is about 1m 30s and just shows what the Dragon road is like from the drivers standpoint. Again I had to compress the video and quality is lousy. The file is about 11MB so anyone with broadband should not have a problem.

I did order a camera mount today so hopefully my future video will be steadier.

Listen for the helicopter about 30 seconds into the video. About 30 seconds after this video ended, 5 cops went flying up the Dragon Run.

Nice work there. Your passenger did a fantastic job keeping the camera in the right direction.

ps - I made that video too. I'm the suzuka in the parking lot as the video ends.

Thanks Gary. I thought my wife did pretty good job considering she was being knocked around. We also had some video of a more aggressive run but it didn't work out well. There was no way to keep the camera steady. Anyways, the camera mount will be here by Thursday!

Blue Ridge Run May 1st

 

When I use my regular camera to take 15-20 second video clips I can usually get a better video than when a passenger tries the same. Something about knowing when I'm turning vs. them being, as you say 'knocked around'.

For this one, I borrowed a wireless cam, and mounted it in my grill. I've got 3 hours of tape to disect and come up with some usable stuff.

 

Hey video clips worked out well, funny hearing the helicopter flying around too. I wondered what happened to you guys as I didnt see you all after a few minutes at the picnic. It was fun tailing up the mountain chasing the Vettes on the way to Knoxville too! Hopefully I can get my car squared away this week after I get it up on the lift, I think I managed to knock some suspension stuff lose while hammering the corners. It felt good to knock some dust off the ol driving skills and redeem myself from the Mr2 wreck. If I can get my baby tightened up I should majke it to May 1st meet. Nice meeting you guys and congrats to the future member of your family

The most unbelievable part is we got behind the Vettes heading back towards Asheville. I am sure it is the same three because it was two convertable and a hardtop and the vanity tag said "You Looz" They were going quite a bit slower on the way back. I wonder if one of them got a wreckless driving or hefty speeding ticket.
