That aside, call me what you will since I started this thread but my Sat. just changed and I have to be at the airport earlier than thought.
I just can't fit in a drive on Sat. However, before I selfishly bailed, my plan was head north through back roads to Lexington for BBQ and onto Ashboro, and then home to Clt.
The route I looked at went something like this:
I77 to X30 (Davidson exit), through scenic Davidson (Griffith St. ?) to Hwy. 115 to Hwy. 801 (there may be an extra road in there) to Hwy. 64 which takes you to Lexington. After BBQ take 64 to Ashboro where Sheadlee has a really cool route.
Its a full and fun day of driving.
