Default Feedback - Happy Jap's Auto Repair

Just wanted to get some feedback on Happy Jap's Auto Repair in Cary. My clutch is slipping and needs replacing, and I have seen this shop mentioned on this forum. Any feedback in general, or more specifically, has anybody had their clutch replaced by this shop? Thanks

Matt

For some reason that name makes me think more of japanese takeout than auto repair. Probably should let lazy handle this for you.

Unfortunately a lift would be needed. I'd rather not have it done on Jackstands, as there may be some other issues with the transmission. Unless of course you may have a lift at your location.

I appreciate the offer, if you want, just pm me an estimate of replacing friction plate, pressure plate, bearings. Do you have any references on this board for clutch repair?

Thanks

Matt

I actually work for Honda(going on my 8th year) and I replaced my Ap1 clutch and rebuilt the trans, using jackstands in my garage. Now my Ap2 I'll be performing at work on a lift, being that it's going to be under warranty. I stand beside all my work, so you have no worries about "oh man this is a backyard jimmy mech".

If you're wanting to just go back to stock on the clutch, I would recommend Exedy clutch kit. I would also recommend either buying a used flywheel and having it resurfaced or if your car can be down for a day or to send your personal one out for resurfacing. Also you can always just upgrade to a lightweight flywheel.

Here's where you can see some of my work.
