Default Duke car safety

So i move into my dorm on wednesday and i am taking my car. I dont have much experience with durham but i hear it is quite ghetto. Will my car be ok? I am on east campus (the campus next to 9th street and not in the middle of the woods). If anyone can give me a heads up on what to expect that would be great.

i used to go up to duke a little bit in '99 and '00. it wasn't too sketchy but i remember parking being limited...my friend who i visited never wanted to move his car for fear of never getting a "good" space again.

i remember durham being ok overall but there were a few spots that i wouldn't want to park in late at nite, etc.

have you considered a hardtop? if i were to take my s2k to any college campus i think i'd have to consider it...

good luck!
