Does anyone ever hang out around charlotte?

I'm bias as I currently live in Matthews - but it might actually be a convenient meeting point as it's pretty much 20-25 minutes from anywhere in Charlotte... uptown, university, south blvd...
kristophers is a sports bar right off 485 - good food + good beer.
there's also a red sox bar which I would personally suggest, but lord knows that could get hairy during baseball season
there's a sort of country/ghetto seafood place with cheap beer also in matthews - but it's sort of country and ghetto and i'm not sure what else they serve aside from seafood (I've never been)
i'd suggest uptown as another option but that's just a bear with traffic on the kindest of days.
