Everyone!

Back by popular demand, a date has been set for McDragon 2005; a relaxing weekend in the NC mountains, to be spent with some of our favorite people on our absolute favorite road!

Let me emphasize this is NOT an organized event; just a nice opportunity for some of us to get together at the Dragon in mid-summer and enjoy the road, the company, some relaxed accomodations and some great food!

WHEN: Weekend of June 25th & 26th

WHERE TO STAY:
Ron and I will be staying at Blue Waters Mountain Lodge, which is about 5 miles north of Robbinsville on Hwy 129, about 13 miles from the Dragon. It's a very cool lodge right on the lake, that provides a full breakfast, has a common game/pool room with a huge fireplace, and a very nice upscale restaurant. They only have 9 rooms, so make a reservation early if you'd like to stay there! Rates run $145-$165 per night and includes breakfast.

For cheaper digs, I'd recommend the Microtel Inn & Suites in Robbinsville, only a few miles down the road. Rates start there at $60/night.

WHAT"S PLANNED: Nothing, that's the whole point! Ron and I may even go up on Thursday evening, just to get 2 full days on the Dragon. There may be opportunities for a little hiking, fishing, etc. but if the weather's nice and the traffic's low, I'm sure we'll be on the Dragon most of the time!

I'll be taking a group uo to the Dragon the 18th and 19th of June. Hmm... Back to back weekends at the Dragon sounds good to me! I'm in!

It arrived in Atlanta on Friday. I have to sell the S before I go get it, though.

 

We're in, in room 6 for Friday and Saturday nights. Not sure if we'll go up Thursday night or not yet.

Can't wait.

I was looking at a rental that will accomodate 10 people and the rate is $20 per person, per night for the weekend...again, with 10 people.

I've just got to figure out how I'm going to weasle two weekends, out of the office, in the month of June ! However, I'm sure as H' going to try to make this happen...one weekend is all business....Hey...I deserve one weekend of FUN...yeah that's the ticket !

 

I thought the Dragon was in Alabama?? Theres a Dragon road in NC?
