Its just a little bit differen't than daily driving Unless of course your driving like a maniac everywhere you go, but idk what your driving habits are like
Matt you really wouldn't use your tires up that much. Plus nobody says you have to beat the crap outta your car out there. Go at whatever pace you feel comfortable with or your tire wear allows.
And yes its free to spectate.

For me, (just me) its hard to rationalize spending the majority of my day to < 10 min of seat time behind the wheel. I'm glad that others are enjoying their cars....it's just not for me. I'd rather make a day out of driving on some mountain roads when I am behind the entire day.
To each his own....We all enjoy our cars in different ways and that's fine. This is just why I do not participate in autoX's. I do encourage others to get out there and give it a try before anyone makes up their minds.

If I didn't have prior obligations I would be there! As for the tire debate that is no excuse. One to three autocross events are not enough to ruin your tires. I'm still commuting on the set I ran in the Fall.
Trust me I regret using this excuse for not signing up for several events in the beginning. The Clemson club does an excellent job at hosting these! Though I suck at autocross I enjoy their events every time I have had the chance to compete.
Hope the weather cooperates for you guys. Have fun. I'll be missing out for sure.

Due to the possibility of icy conditions on Saturday, we are tenitively planning on moving the event to Sunday the 31st.
We have to contact Anderson University about switching insurance and such, but I'll let you guys know when the switch is official
