If you dont mind me asking.....If you kept a total how much did this trip cost you?
$1500 on gas
$1200 on hotels and KOAs (keep in mind that 9 days of the trip were spent in WA state with John's parents, another 2 nights in AL with family and 1 night in Chicago with Huskergirl and Huskerhubby)
$250 or so spent on entrance fees into the National Parks and Monuments (got a couple of entrance fees for free since John was active military at the time )
...and lastly you would have to factor in prices for snacks and food, etc...you tend not to eat too much while you are traveling due to the fact that you are not as active and don't burn as many calories as you are sitting in the car.
The only other items you need to factor in are oil changes, blown tires, tolls, etc...
No matter how much it costs to do this trip, it is well worth it and we would definitely do it again.
