Sorry, can't help you with the job-hunting, but right now, it's about 45 and . Tomorrow is supposed to be 50 and more . My GF and I moved down here from NY about two years ago and we are LOVING it! Not missing all of that lovely lake effect snow up there in CNY.

Central Square. About 15 miles north of Syracuse......You know, where all of the lake-effect is pounding Oswego County. That makes my move even sweeter.

from charlotte and the surrounding areas? I'd say that snowboarding is about 2 hrs away - both Boone and Asheville are plus or minus just about 2 hours - depending on how you drive and which routes you take.

As far as the houses go, I don't know much about any areas except for inside Charlotte, so I'm a bit useless there.

We moved up here from Tampa and it's cold as balls. Not too bad though. I'm sure the weather is way better than what you are use to. The summers are nice.

Good luck with your decision. We also moved here because of the cheap housing.

We miss our Florida friends and ffamily though, so make sure the trade off is worth it.
