So all you're saying is the black overlay that's in there stock was taken out and painted to match the car? Just making sure I understand what is going on.

Yup. You buy the black inserts from him. You take them to a local paint shop & have them paint them to the same color-code Honda has for your particular car (as Silverstone differs by year with S2000s...that color-code can be determined by local Honda dealer and/or experienced paint shop). One piece of advice... What these inserts really are is nothing more than clear plastic...that is then chromed...and then painted flat black. Notice that as both the OEM piece of black insert...*and*...as the repainted effort displayed in the white image...the chrome ring around the HID area is NOT repainted over! I've seen poor shops...paint...the...whole...insert . That chrome ring should properly masked off first!...prior to repainting! Also, I've seen a customer whose shop had oversprayed slightly onto his chrome ring. And the customer took it upon himself to attempt to remove the overspray. That customer used too strong a chemical...and stripped the chrome ring riiiiiiiiiight off . Remember me saying these inserts start out as clear plastic??? Yup...he stripped it right down to the clear lickity-split .

Just passing along tid-bits for consideration...

BTW Gavin... Notice Brandon's offered image of his headlamp again. Brandon seems to have opted to just purchase 7440 & 194 amber bulbs to replace the[clear-under-removed-amber-diffuser] ones. You might want to ask Brandon if he's happy with the amber bulbs...since you're considering Rick's chromed set based on my recommendation.

Good point Dave... I'd def. recommend the chromed set of bulbs for clear diffusers. From straight on, as Sheila mentioned previously, the amber really stands out and kinda defeats the purpose of the all clear look IMO... I never got around to ordering the chromed set of bulbs for one reason or another I should have though and I'd advise anyone to do so prior to this event... Looks a lot cleaner

Also, if anyone buys these and wants this to turn out right, please get these professionally painted... You do not wanna try and just spray paint these or anything and save a few bucks... Like Dave mentioned just be sure they tape off the 'ring' and they get the right color code off your particular year...

Basically the shop where I took mine charged me $100 bucks to do these and I never had to worry about the paint bubbling up or chipping/cracking or fading

I have a couple things to sell...

AEM CAI w/ Filter - $125 - Anodized red tube w/ black rubber coupling. Filter should be cleaned & combs straightened somewhat.

7/8 Aero Screen - $75 - Etched "S2000"...never installed!

I'm about 99% sure that I'll take the AEM CAI and same for the 7/8 Aero Screen. How's the "S2000" part etched?

Oh, nevermind...I see the S2000 logo...I'm cool. Again, 99% on both items.

...don't you love commitment??

Hey Dave...I can pickup a brand-new AEM polished CAI from Tire Rack for about $275...I know it's a $100 difference...but I'm thinking the polished will look better than the red. Your thoughts? Are these somewhat easy/simple to sand/prime/paint??
