Just hold the clutch down on start for a 10-15 sec. , both my 2001 and 2003 did this on cold mornings. I never had an issue

You might not want to hold the clutch down any longer than needed. The thrust bearings are splash lubricated so they receive no additional oil while the clutch is down. It can lead to crank walk. There is also very little oil if any on the thrust bearings at startup.
