Busy 4th of July!
Well, actually, it was a busy 3rd of July...
So, this past weekend I took a big journey to visit family, visit friends, and visit one of our favorite fellow S2k owners, Dave (W1ngman)!! The trip started from here in Lexington. My girlfriend, Beth and I jumped in the S Thursday morning at 5:00am and headed towards Virginia. The plan was to spend some time with her family there and my plan was to go see Dave to get my new JDM smoked corners! Before we left, the S looked like this:
As luck would have it, about 2 miles from the exit for Beth's grandparents, a car hit a piece of shredded truck tire and sent it flying at my windshield! As you can see, it was a direct hit!
So, after pulling over and spitting the glass out of my mouth and dusting as much of it off the seats and dashboard, I headed to Beth's grandparents and started making phone calls... just 3 hours later, I had a new windshield and things were getting a little better...
At this point, it was about time to go meet Dave. That was a pleasant experience... I don't care what y'all say about Dave when he's not around, but I think he's a great guy!!! (j/k Dave, nobody's really said anything REAL bad about you ) So anyway, Dave got right to work and did a fantastic job!!
I sure like 'em! Thanks Dave!!!
So anyway, after the conversion, we hopped in the cars and headed out for a bite to eat. As you would expect, Dave (w1ngman) suggested the wings at the restaurant down the road. So, after 2 orders of baby wings ( j/k Dave!) and a picture with the bruised banana, I was headed back to see my girlfriend and her grandparents!
3 days later, after heading to Pittsburgh, PA to visit my folks, I made it home alive and the S did too! Thankfully, the worst thing to happen during the rest of my trip was the sunburn I got driving 8 hours home yesterday with the top down!
So here I am, after 2 and a half months with 9400 miles on the car and a smile on my face! Just thought I'd share the news!!!

Damn, Garret... I thought things were going downhill fast when I saw that pic of your windshield. Glad to hear that it got taken care of quickly and didn't wreck your weekend. The smoked JDM's look great, by the way. I thought my car had a bunch of miles on it -- 15.3k in 9.5 months. You're approaching airgate-like mileage though!
