Ok....quick question for the NC guys/gals
Will a NC speeding ticket (Johnston Rd, Charlotte-60mph reduced to 54 in a 45) go on ye ole insurance?
Actually, the wife got the ticket instead of myself. Although I've had some very close calls the past few weeks.
I've got no problem paying the fine, but apparently when the wife checked on traffic school, they told her 9mph wouldn't be seen by insurance.
Just curious if that was true or if anyone had any opinions on what to do....lawyer,traffic school, etc?
Thanks

Good luck on the ticket. I don't think 9mph will show on your insurance. I did a lite search for you on the web but came up with nothing.

That sucks, just glad for you guys that he reduced it to 9 over. He was correct, 9 over won't go on your insurance. Just pay the ticket all will be cool.

I think you need to talk to your insurance agent.

Some companies will raise your rates even if you pled guilty to 1 MPH over the posted speed limit (I.e. you broke the speed limit)

Find your answers.... and Good luck.

There's a provision for her to attend driving school and have the charge changed to one that does not have points.

Good luck!

I had an officer tell me that up to 9mph over the speed limit does not add points to your license and by law can't be factored into your rates by insurance. Course what do the police know about the law?...

I had a two point ticket and my insurance didn't go up, but I didn't qualify for a good driver discount anymore. I know in SC even if you take the driving class your insurance will still have the points on your policy for 3 years even though your driving record is clean. The two are independant down here.

Keep in mind...

Points for you Licence are not equal to Insurance Points.. They are two different numbers and do not directly relate to each other. Talk with your agent. Each company can handle each situation differently.

I agree, What do the police know about insurance?

Ok the your wify got busted doing 15 over but the police offi...wait I mean the "traffic patroler" reduced it to 9 over. Well on the ticket it will still show the original speed and the reduced speed. cops are not going to take the time to write a citation for 9 over. The insurance company may actually be looking at the original speed and not the reduced speed. Check with your ins and attorney.

cheers,

Wicked
